A Beautifully Renovated Sea-view Apartment in Castellammare with Designer Interiors and Gulf Panorama
Casa Bianca is a fully renovated two-bedroom apartment with an unbeatable sea view. From the wide balcony that opens off the large living room, you have an unbroken vantage point from which to look directly out at the Tyrrhenian Sea from a perfect position in the beautiful old town of Castellammare del Golfo.
From the outside, the building seems completely traditional, a terraced property with white facade that has one of the town's most popular pizzerias on the ground floor. The neighbourhood is all weathered stone and narrow streets, the kind of lived-in charm that nowhere does better than the south of Italy. Once you step inside, however, it's a completely different story. The apartment has been freshly renovated and radiates modern cool, with sleek resin floors, designer furniture and tasteful lighting. The beautifully finished effect is a sea-view apartment in Castellammare that blends timeless charm and contemporary comfort.
In total, you will find around 90 m² of living space, with a bare minimum lost to passageways. A short entrance hall leads to two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open-plan living area with a designer kitchen by Lago and that perfect balcony looking straight out over the raised promenade, a little terrace for a restaurant nearby and the open water beyond. For maximum convenience it is sold fully furnished, ready to use from the day you collect the keys.
For anyone looking to buy a house in Sicily that works equally well as a personal retreat or a high-end rental investment that will deliver dependable returns, Casa Bianca is a serious proposition. The location, at the heart of one of the island’s most sought-after tourist destinations, guarantees both quality of life and strong commercial potential.
The Property
The building sits on the western edge of the old town, just around the corner from the Arab-Norman castle that gives Castellammare its name. While you have all the character of the historic neighbourhood, a large piazza just around the corner guarantees ease of access and parking options. Access is via a shared staircase, common only to one other unit, which has been fully refurbished with white marble steps and freshly painted walls. It feels private and well-maintained, a cut above some of the rundown communal entrances you can often find in apartment buildings.
Stepping inside is a bit like boarding a luxury yacht, or just possibly a spaceship. The renovation work has been thorough and conducted with skill and dedication. The facade, roof and all internal systems are new, with every element certified to current standards. Grey resin flooring runs continuously through the apartment, creating a smooth, light-reflecting surface that gives the interiors an almost gallery-like quality. The effect is modern, minimal and easy to maintain.
Immediately to your left, the open-plan kitchen and living area measures nearly 30m² and is the obvious heart of the home, flowing naturally towards that magnetic view of the gulf. The sloping ceiling starts at 4 metres, giving the space an airy, loft-like feel and amplifying the natural light pouring through the large window. The furnishings – all included in the sale – have been chosen to complement rather than compete with the view. The kitchen is by Lago, a prestige Italian brand known for bold contemporary design, and features a hob integrated into the dining table so that you can cook while looking out to sea. The balcony to the front, about 2.5 metres wide and almost a metre deep, is just the right size for a breakfast table so you can start every day with the sun on your face and the seascape in front of you.
The master bedroom is about 12 m² with an en-suite bathroom. It is furnished with a four-poster bed and a Juliet balcony lets in light and air. The second bedroom, slightly smaller, is intelligently laid out to accommodate twin beds, and a second bathroom serves the rest of the apartment.
Designer light fittings are used throughout, and every detail, from the switches to the door handles, has been chosen with a tasteful eye. On a sunny day, with the light bouncing off the resin floors and the blue of the gulf filling the windows, it is hard to imagine a more appealing sea-view apartment in Castellammare.
Three independent heat pump units provide both heating and cooling throughout. A utility room houses the technical systems.
Surroundings
If you're looking for an apartment in Castellammare you really couldn't pick a better location than where we find Casa Bianca. The old town’s bars, restaurants and scenic walks are on your doorstep, and a flight of steps just metres from the entrance leads down the dramatic descent to the city beach below. The castle, the harbour promenade and the main piazza are just a couple of minutes’ walk away. For daily shopping, you will find supermarkets and all essential services in the new town, easily reached on foot.
Castellammare del Golfo is one of the most popular destinations in the province of Trapani, a natural amphitheatre leading to a dazzling marina that combines dramatic scenery, with a rich cultural heritage. Twenty minutes to the west is the entrance to the Riserva dello Zingaro, a protected coastal nature reserve of unspoilt coves and hiking trails. A long expanse golden sands runs along the gulf, through Alcamo Marina and Balestrate to Trappetto, 15 kilometres to the east. Inland, the ancient Doric temple, amphitheatre and hot springs of Segesta are a twenty-minute drive away.
The town has its own railway station on the Palermo–Trapani line, which connects you to Sicily’s capital in just over an hour. By car, the journey is a little shorter, and the city's Falcone-Borsellino international airport is under 45 minutes away. A quieter second option, Trapani’s Vincenzo Florio, is equidistant and offering an ever greater range of flights.
Potential
Casa Bianca is in perfect condition, and requires no work at all. It is fully furnished, fully equipped and ready for immediate use, whether as a personal residence or a rental.
If you are drawn to Sicily's booming tourist market and rental-friendly legislative climate, seafront Castellammare is hard to beat as a location. You won't pay the extreme prices of Taormina or Syracuse on the island's east coast, but the region's combination of history, nature and geographical convenience guarantees that you'll never find guests hard to come by. Around 230,000 holidaymakers stay in the town every year. Most will arrive throughout the extended Mediterranean season, when a two-bedroom apartment with sea view could command €200-300 per night, but the premium view means you'll surely have a choice of longer term tenants in the winter too.
If you are considering running a holiday let in Sicily, it is hard to think of a better starting point.
Equally, for anyone moving to Sicily and looking for somewhere they can settle into from day one, with year-round comfort and a location that never gets dull, Casa Bianca fits the bill. The three heat pumps mean you will be comfortable in every season, and the town’s lively calendar of restaurants, bars and cultural events keeps things interesting well beyond the summer months. Our team would be delighted to talk you through the details and answer any questions.
